2021 Stock Pitch Competition
Application Information & Competition Details
The Terry College of Business is delighted to announce our plans for the 7th annual Stock Pitch Competition. The competition will take place on February 5, 2021 – and for the first time, the format is virtual! This is a great opportunity to showcase your investing skills to industry professionals and compete with other top universities around the country. Additional information is included below:
Teams of 2-4 undergraduates must fill out the application with their contact information and presentations (in PDF format) no later than January 15 at 11:59PM EST.
Selected teams will be notified by January 25. Additional information about the schedule & logistics will be provided at that time.
An introductory Zoom meeting will be held in the evening on February 4. This will feature an introduction to our program and the competition, a speaker panel of industry professionals, and a notable keynote speaker.
The actual competition will take place on February 5, from roughly 9:00am to 4:00pm EST. The first round of pitches will take place in the morning. After breaking for lunch, finalists will be announced. The top three teams will present for a fresh lineup of judges, and win a total of $4000.
Pitches should be long/short recommendations on US-listed equities greater than $1 billion in size as measured by market capitalization.
Recommendations should be grounded in high-quality, fundamental research.
First round presentations should be a maximum of 12 minutes in length, followed by roughly 8 minutes of Q&A with judges.
The time limit will be extended in the final round to 15 minutes followed by 10 minutes in Q&A.
